Ross Ulbricht, the controversial creator of the Silk Road, has been at the center of debates regarding technology and criminal activity. Following his pardon by US President Donald Trump, a new wave of cybercrime has emerged, exploiting news of Ulbricht’s case to deliver malware. Threat actors on X are redirecting users to a Telegram channel, where they are tricked into running PowerShell scripts that infect their devices with malware. According to vx-underground researchers, this attack uses a new variation of the 'Click-Fix' tactic, masquerading as a captcha or verification process to join the channel.
